Nintendo has dropped a surprise Wii channel on the Japanese today, and we're more than a little jealous. Called "Minna no Nintendo" (translated as "Everybody's Nintendo"), the channel lets gamers view videos of various Nintendo games, and view DS and Wii release lists, as well as (and here's the big one!) send game demos to the Nintendo DS using local Wi-Fi.

But let's not get too envious just yet -- according to Japanese Wii owners on NeoGAF, the channel currently only features an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto about the fat burning Wii Fit, and the demos only include Namco Bandai's Tamagotchi game, Brain Age 2, and other games in the Touch Generations series. OK, fine ... we're still very jealous.

The channel also features the ability to rate games that they own, by leaving feedback in multiple categories. Categories include how casual or hardcore a game may be, difficulty level, and overall title quality.

No word on when the channel will be available in other territories, but it seems like a no brainer -- this may be the most exciting Wii channel yet, and one that owners have been clamoring for since launch.

It really does sound like the best Wii channel yet. I wonder how long it'll take to get released in other territories.

Looks like a good idea. Shame the Wii doesn't have the hard-drive space for demos of Wii games.

Demos for the Wiiīs!!!! They are possible in the foreseeable future when Nintendo surely releases an add-on hard-drive for the Wii at the economic price of 50 bucks.

Screw demos for the DS, I donīt have one and I donīt want one; I WANT DEMOS FOR THE WII!!

Im really hoping more channels come out soon, this seems alright but frankly I'd like to see something more in line with say, an olympics type channel where people need to do certain movements and then compare who does it best. You could submit a new "dance move" and then people could vote on how interesting it is and get points for how well they do the move or something.....<--- yeah totally ha

WII CHANNELS.

More of Nintendo's genius at work, who needs actual games when all they need to do is announce another fucking channel?

Finally, demos. Nintendo is so far in the future and so far in the past at the same time it's ridiculous.
