LEGO Rock Band 100% exportable, track list exposed
LEGO Rock Band (check out our comprehensive preview), due out this holiday season, will offer over 40 songs. In keeping with Harmonix’s music platform ethos (and confirming an earlier rumor), most of the on-disc tracks will be exportable to PS3/360 hard drives for use in Rock Band or Rock Band 2. And they mean “most” -- speaking to me at a recent demo of LEGO Rock Band, Harmonix publicist John Drake took a thinly-veiled jab at Activision: When we say we’re exporting a disc, we mean that we’re exporting, like, ninety-plus percent of the disc, not thirty-plus percent of the disc. Of course, Drake was referring to Guitar Hero 5 and its compatibility with merely 35 of the 86 songs on the Guitar Hero World Tour disc. (Actually, John, that comes out to just over 40%, but we’ll let the semantics slide since you’ve got a valid point nonetheless.) Check out the full set list below: Console versions: All American Rejects, “Swing, Swing” Nintendo DS version All American Rejects, “Swing, Swing” Did you know? Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Harmonix has had my loyalty since Amplitude, they just can't seem to get a music game wrong.
The ability for cross-game DLC and Disc music is the #1 reason why Rock Band > Activision's Guitar Hero. I'd prefer to just have this show up as DLC eventually. There's only four songs from this list that I really want. But being able to export most of this is a nice touch, for sure. The song you can't export is probably Fire. It's October 12th, and the game isn't out till November 2nd. I'm hoping I can export the entire game by launch, that's the only reason why I'm buying this game anyways. This makes me exited for the possibility of Hendrix in regular Rock Band. Voodoo Chile, here I come. The song I'm looking most for is the ghostbusters theme, but just my luck that will be one of the few songs that won't be able to export. :( YES! WE GET ALL THE SONGS!!! Jimi Hendrix & Queen on RB2?! looks like GH lost its most prized exclusives. Sooo many guilty pleasures here... Two Princes, The Final Countdown, Summer of 69 are gonna be so much fun. Thus still leaving only two songs out of nearly a thousand in the Rock Band library that you can't play in RB2 (excluding The Beatles). It hardly needs to be said, but this is arguably the biggest reason people prefer Rock Band (2). Well, it's also a much better game, but still. man i love harmonix...always come through for the customer, unlike those other guys over there [don't look at them]...a good jackson 5 song yes! i don't know why but i hate ABC with so much passion, final countdown!! here i come!! Summer of 69 is an awesome song, along with Queen, Bowie, Hendrix and Tom Petty, this is looking to be a good rent and export. 100% now, well done. The lousy percentage of exportable tracks from World Tour really soured me on picking up Guitar Hero 5 at launch. @Johnny Justice: If you've already exported the RB1 disc songs to your hard drive, then LEGO Rock Band will be able to read those songs, in addition to any DLC you've purchased, and will allow you to play the family-friendly ones in the game. Since Harmonix hasn't yet let gamers export RB2's on-disc songs, you'll need to pop in the RB2 disc to play those. 1:30 PM on 06.19.2013 Post-release DLC for The Bureau hits Xbox 360 firstHere's footage of tactical gameplay in The Bureau: XCOM Declassified to go along with the usual news that, yes, post-release DLC is happening.
