I can't even... what is... why in the... sigh.
Yesterday we told you about a NES that was on eBay for a minimum bid of $35,000. The seller, ronald3868, said he needed the money to pay his bills and that the NES was the only thing he had left that meant anything to him. You probably read this and thought, "Good luck, buddy." Good luck indeed; the NES sold for $50,000.
Yea, you read that right. Who knows if he is actually going to get the money, but if he does he's either going to be able to buy another hundred or so NESs with that extra $15,000 dollars he got or he's pulled off a really fantastic con. Either way, home boy is rolling in it now. I believe an astonished slow clap is in order for Mr. Ronald3868.
Up next: A Sega Genesis will sell for $75,000 because it really reminds a guy of his dead mother and he has to pay for her funeral bills.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Shit, I'd even settle for $49k. I'm not greedy.
The guy might actually not be really poor, that's why it could be a con.
The seller should be hailed as an eBay marketing genius, and the buyer should be declared too stupid to live.
I am insanely jealous of the seller and I will be copying his sales technic as soon as news of this blows over.
For every good person out there, there's another hundred willing to take advantage of him/her. I hate that the world is like that, but it is. Fact is, the seller could be a con artist, and the buyer could be a liar. If they are both authentic, awesome. But I wouldn't bet the farm on that being the case.
And guys, it's not the NES itself that sold for $50,000, but the NES, games and other rare items. Just keep it buried.
Probably a fake bid anyway, thankfully.
Of course, if his problems were due to typical living-beyond-one's-means bullshit, then he deserves to be smacked in the face by Sterling Himself.
Shit I'm selling something. Sega Saturn up for grabs! I'll throw in some games too if I can get a cool $10,000 out of it
