You snooze, you lose! Despite setting up 1-click shopping, storing my credit card info, and hitting refresh a billion times I now count myself among the thousands, perhaps millions of people that rushed Amazon.com's $100 Xbox 360 sale and was refused -- the sale was pretty much over before it even started. A more 1000 lucky snipers were able to save $200 off the core system, making it the lowest priced next-gen system sale ever made. Other retailers have jumped on the 360 discount bandwagon and you may see core systems as low as $200 in select stores. If Sony is reportedly losing $300 on each console and Microsoft is making $76 on theirs, logic would dictate that the big M may apply the pressure and permanently drop prices soon to slaughter PS3 sales. Elsewhere, Nintendo is sitting pretty at $250 counting their money...

Ditto for me. It was a no go. I refreshed fine until 1:58 then it just stopped loading. I refreshed until 2:15 and it finally came up saying "Sold out"...I had a chance for a barbie though, ugh.

I was on the site half an hour before 2. As soon as 2 came, the site was done. I was able to get the page loaded by 2:01, but it was already sold out. My mom did have me pick up the bike and Barbie doll though, although even she was pissed we didn't get the 360.

I'm guessing anyone on the east coast didn't have a chance in hell. The guys that got it were probably on solid 6mb connections close to their web servers.

The only thing worse than not getting a chance to win one (which is my beef, not that I didn't get one... it's that I never had a shot) is the magnamimous assholes who are going on about how it's fair and it's Thanksgiving and what not.

As if Amazon didn't do it for their own benefit.

Shoulda just been a lottery. Everyone in, draw 1000, thanks for playing. Otherwise it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Same story for me. I'm on a wireless connection on the east coast... I had no chance. I shouldn't have even bothered trying.
